Roya Shariat is a London-based writer, communications advisor, and social impact professional.
Her expertise sits at the intersection of cultural relevance and social impact. She’s worked for leading brands and organizations including Glossier (where she created the brand’s Grant Program and led their WNBA Partnership), Chobani, the ACLU, Ultra Violette, and the Women’s Tennis Association Foundation.
Roya’s debut cookbook, Maman and Me: Recipes from Our Iranian American Family (Chronicle + PA Press) was released in 2023, as a celebration of Iranian cooking in the diaspora. Wired named Maman and Me one of the best cookbooks of 2023, and the book has been a top release on Amazon.
Roya writes a newsletter called Consumed. She runs a cooking TikTok that has nearly 200,000 followers, as well as an Instagram page with 100K+ followers.
Roya has been featured in numerous publications including CNN, Bon Appetit, Epicurious, CTV, Cherry Bombe, PIX11, NPR, Elle, and the CBC. She’s have partnered with brands including Our Place, Hedley & Bennett, Great Jones, Diaspora Co, Glossier, Framebridge, and Ghia.
